Rostlinopis (Plantopedia: Wondrous Truths and Tall Tales from the Green World)

Main idea: A story for every plant — for example, why nettles sting.

Rostlinopis was written by Jiří Dvořák, illustrated by Alžběta Skálová and published by Baobab. For every plant it offers a story, a riddle or a little rhyme — we find out, for example, why nettles sting or what the very first plant on Earth was. The book won first place in the Most Beautiful Czech Book of 2012 competition (textbooks and educational materials category). We have it at home.
